Earlier this year, Escola became the first openly non-binary performer to win the Tony for Best Actor in a Play for Oh, Mary!, which they also wrote and which earned a Best Play nomination. Miss Piggy originated on The Muppet Show in 1976 and was originally voiced by Frank Oz. Frank Oz also voiced Yoda and last played Piggy in a 2007 video.
