James Tolkan, an actor famous for his roles in Top Gun and the Back to the Future series, has died at 94. He was born in 1931 in Calumet, Michigan, and served in the Navy before pursuing acting. Tolkan studied at the Actors Studio and began his career in television and Broadway. He is best known for portraying Mr. Strickland in Back to the Future and Tom 'Stinger' Jardian in Top Gun. He was married to Parmelee since 1971 until his death.
