When an artist is tied to a bourgeois capitalist class, the resulting work reflects that class’s writing. As a culture worker belonging to an oppressed people, the job is to make revolution irresistible. I Love Boosters follows the Velvet Gang, young working-class Black women who steal from luxury stores and sell goods at discounted prices as survival. The story shifts into science fiction to emphasize worker solidarity against a capitalist system that exploits people.
