'I Know What You Did Last Summer' director reveals 1 vet was 'harassed' to join sequel - and refused

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the director of the new 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' disclosed her unsuccessful attempts to bring back Sarah Michelle Gellar for the sequel. Gellar, who played Helen Shivers in the original film, humorously noted the impossibility due to her character's death. Robinson shared that she even pitched alternative scenarios, but Gellar was firm about her character's fate. While Gellar won’t appear, the film features returning stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt, alongside new cast members, introducing new characters and a thrilling premise.

Robinson revealed that she 'tried relentlessly,' and failed, to get Sarah Michelle Gellar to return for the sequel, emphasizing that Gellar's character is 'dead.'

I pitched some crazy ideas to get Sarah back in the film, but she firmly stated, 'I am dead. I am Sarah Dead Gellar.'

Gellar joked about her unofficial role in the sequel, saying, 'My best friend [Robinson] is directing it... I am continuity'.

The trailer introduces new cast members and depicts a group of teenagers stalked by a mysterious stranger, adding a fresh dynamic to the sequel.
