Rental Family examines the real-life business of rental family agencies in Japan. The production used locations such as the Sumida Riverwalk and city streets staged for a cat festival to ground scenes in recognizable public spaces. teamLab Borderless provided an interactive, emotionally resonant setting for key character moments. The project prioritized finding places that convey how people live and move through Tokyo for an immersive audience experience.
