Pierre Niney put a used tissue up for auction on eBay, initially as a joke. The sealed white tissue attracted bids that rose to €100,000 after starting from a reserve of €1. Bids had reached €10,000 by late January and jumped to €100,000 by February 1. The auction followed a live-camera bit during an interview with Antton Racca in which Niney blew his nose, sealed the tissue in a plastic bag and listed it. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to charity. Pierre Niney is a Paris-born 36-year-old actor who trained at the Comedie-Francaise and won a Cesar for portraying Yves Saint Laurent.
