Moulin Rouge! The Musical adapts Baz Luhrmann's 2001 film and follows composer Christian, who falls in love with Satine, a courtesan and star of the Moulin Rouge cabaret. Bob the Drag Queen, known as Caldwell Tidicue out of drag, is making his Broadway debut as Harold Zidler, the eccentric owner of the Moulin Rouge. Bob won the eighth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and began doing drag in 2009 after watching the show's first season. Past stage actors for Harold Zidler include Danny Burstein, Tituss Burgess, Boy George, and Wayne Brady. Preparation for the role includes vocal lessons, script study, and plans to watch the original movie with friends.
