Disneyland diehard to set record with 15,000th ride on Radiator Springs Racers

"Diehard Disneyland fan Jon Hale will break his own record that he has held for more than a decade when he hops aboard Radiators Springs Racers for his 15,000th lap around Ornament Valley from the 2006 Cars animated film. I don't know of anyone who has done more rides on Radiator Springs Racers than I have, Hale said via email. Hale will ride Radiator Springs Racers for the record-setting 15,000th time on Monday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure."

Jon Hale will mark his 15,000th lap on Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure on Dec. 8, completing more than a decade of repeated rides. The $200 million attraction combines a dark ride through Radiator Springs with a slot-car race finale inspired by Epcot's Test Track. Hale began his campaign in 2012 during a passholder preview and has made over 1,000 visits, recording each ride in a notebook that logs car color, lane and race outcome. The effort followed twin knee replacements, gastric bypass surgery and a more than 150-pound weight loss.
