Cynthia Erivo Defends Ariana Grande During A Scary Encounter At 'Wicked' Premiere
"please don't wish danger on us,"
"To be able to act with this one and to share a space and to be a scene partner with you was the greatest privilege of my professional life,"
"Let alone sing with her, the greatest singer in the entire world. I'm spoiled for life."
"opposite sides of the same coin,"
"each have something the other can love and can see themselves."
An attendee at the Nov. 13 Singapore premiere jumped a barrier, charged Ariana Grande, wrapped his arms around her and jumped up and down. Michelle Yeoh, who had been holding Grande's hand, attempted to pull her away while Cynthia Erivo pushed the man back until security intervened. Grande paused to check on her co-stars and then continued down the carpet arm-in-arm with Erivo and Yeoh. Grande previously missed a São Paulo premiere due to flight delays, apologized, and asked followers, “please don’t wish danger on us,” while the cast has shown public closeness and mutual admiration.
