Brick Lane turns yellow to mark new Wicked film
"I had to do it in two days, and obviously in this really cold weather it was a challenge."
"There's no place like Brick Lane, and at the Truman Brewery, east London's iconic home for creativity and culture, imagination and individuality take centre stage. In collaboration with Wicked: For Good, we're thrilled to bring Yellow Brick Lane to life through an 'oz-mazing' transformation of our beloved site."
Brick Lane in east London has been painted yellow to mark the release of the new film Wicked: For Good. The installation was created through a collaboration between Universal UK, the Truman Brewery and Tower Hamlets Council. Six artists were commissioned to paint Wicked-themed murals along the route: Taya De La Cruz, James Cochran AKA Jimmy C, Tom Blackford, Mr Cenz, Sophie Mess and Nicolas Dixon. Mr Cenz said he became a Wicked fan after watching it with his daughters and completed his mural in two days despite very cold weather. The Truman Brewery described the transformation as an 'oz-mazing' celebration of creativity and individuality.
