Bijou Phillips, 45, is urgently seeking a kidney after family and friends who tested as potential donors were incompatible. No prospective donors are available at present, though family members remain optimistic about finding a match within the next couple months. Phillips is hospitalized at UCLA Health and began dialysis treatment this week. She previously received a kidney transplant in 2017 that was followed by complications including a BK virus infection, which led to both cellular and antibody rejection. Phillips was born with underdeveloped kidneys and spent her first three months in the NICU on dialysis. She has an 11-year-old daughter, Fianna.
