American Psycho to Receive 4K UHD and VHS Releases for 25th Anniversary
"Both releases will serve as special "uncut" versions of the film and arrive on December 9th, with the 4K UHD edition priced at $39.99 and the VHS edition at $29.99. The 4K UHD release will feature Dolby Vision HDR, with an outer box cover depicting a maniacal Christian Bale splattered with blood and a CD case with artwork modeled after Huey Lewis and the News' Sports."
"American Psycho, an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' 1991 novel, arrived in theaters nationwide on April 14th, 2000. Christian Bale starred as Patrick Bateman, a young investment banker who embarks on a gruesome serial killing spree in New York while attempting to maintain his polished facade of wealth and social status among Manhattan's elite. The film became a box office success and a beloved entry in the horror canon, inspiring a direct-to-video sequel, a Broadway musical, and a sizable cult following."
American Psycho will be reissued as 25th anniversary uncut editions on December 9 in 4K UHD and VHS formats, priced at $39.99 and $29.99 respectively. The 4K UHD edition includes Dolby Vision HDR and special packaging featuring Christian Bale artwork and a CD-case homage to Huey Lewis and the News' Sports. The set includes five replica business cards for Wall Street characters, a fake Bateman credit card, and a faux video-store membership card. Bonus material comprises a 25th anniversary Q&A with Mary Harron, audio commentary from Harron and Guinevere Turner, archival features from the film's original promotion, and additional extras. Pre-orders are available. A Luca Guadagnino remake starring Austin Butler is in development and reportedly leans more on Bret Easton Ellis' original novel than the 2000 film.
