"Something strange is arriving at the BFI Southbank early next year - a room that isn't just a room, but a threshold. As part of a David Lynch season of films and talks, visitors will be invited to step sideways into a recreation of the Twin Peaks' Red Room, the velvet-draped chamber deep within the Black Lodge where time coils, shadows whisper, and courage was the only true currency."
"They say the Red Room is a place of pain and suffering. A place where spirits bargain, where doubles slip out of their mirrors, and where a soul without "perfect courage" can simply vanish. And now it's coming to London. The Red Room will be open throughout January as part of the David Lynch season. It will be free to enter. No ticket. No reservations. Just walk in, if you dare."
BFI Southbank will host a David Lynch season throughout January. A recreation of the Twin Peaks' Red Room will be installed and open free to enter with no tickets or reservations. The Red Room installation will recreate the velvet-draped Black Lodge chamber known for time distortions and the test of courage. Screenings across January will include Blue Velvet, Dune, Eraserhead, Inland Empire, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks films and the original pilot, plus short films and documentaries. Talks and special events include Philosophical Screens: Lost Highway, The Cinematic Visions of David Lynch, a Q&A with Dexter Fletcher, a Lynch quiz, and a sip-and-paint.
