A treasure trove of Criterion Collection DVDs are now on half-price sale
"If you're a film enthusiast or, better yet, a fan of Criterion's Closet Picks videos, then you'll want to know about the half-off sale on the Criterion Collection's DVDs now in progress at Barnes & Noble. The sale, which will last until December 7th, includes, according to the site, "contemporary and classic films from around the world, including cult favorites, psychological dramas, coming-of-age comedies and more from some of the most celebrated directors." Not to be left behind, Amazon is also offering half off its selection of Criterion DVDs as well."
"The sale takes in hundreds of the Criterion Collection's over 1,600 films. The latest additions, most from the 1980s, include Altered States, which has all the weirdness that you can expect from a Ken Russell film; The Breakfast Club, beloved by anyone who was an adolescent in the 1980s, and Rob Reiner's hilarious rock-bio satire This Is Spinal Tap. These, and a vast array of well-known and obscure-but-worthy films dating from the silent era to present day, are now available at half-price."
Barnes & Noble is running a half-off sale on Criterion Collection DVDs through December 7, with Amazon matching half-price offers on its Criterion selection. The sale covers hundreds of titles drawn from the Collection's more than 1,600 films and spans silent-era works through contemporary releases. Recent additions highlighted include 1980s titles such as Altered States, The Breakfast Club, and This Is Spinal Tap. The selection features cult favorites, psychological dramas, coming-of-age comedies, and films from celebrated directors. The timing provides an opportunity to purchase DVDs for holiday gifts or personal collection-building.
