Valentino Garavani died at age 93 at his Roman residence, surrounded by loved ones, his foundation announced. His body will lie in state at the foundation's Rome headquarters, with a funeral in the Italian capital planned for Friday. Italy's prime minister paid tribute, calling him a master of style and an eternal symbol of Italian high fashion. Valentino founded his house in 1959 and dressed icons including Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Monica Vitti and Jackie Kennedy.
