"The borders between worlds are dying, a creature emerges, the spectre of humanity adrift. Its existence unfolds in three movements, Genesis, Morphose, Morta, echoing perception, marginality and mental escapes. Her gestures are slow, her eyes sometimes absent, as if she were listening to another world, inaudible to us. Scarlett Rose is a Paris-based photographer and artist whose work revolves around fashion, textures, and the unreal. Her practice combines analogue and digital processes, sometimes enriched with materials such as fabric, resin, or metal."
"This dialogue between matter and gaze gives rise to images that are both delicate and intense, poised between fragility and strength. Through her projects, she explores the threshold between body and mask, self and double. Fascinated by gestures and fleeting expressions that reveal what words conceal, she seeks to push the image beyond its limits to brush against the intangible: the vulnerability of a glance, the ambiguity of a texture, the dramatic force of a colour."
Photography stages a liminal encounter between sky and sea where a model moves through three named movements—Genesis, Morphose, Morta—addressing perception, marginality, and mental escapes. Gestures are intentionally slow and eyes sometimes absent, implying an attentiveness to an inaudible other world. The photographer combines analogue and digital techniques with materials such as fabric, resin, and metal to create images that balance fragility and strength. The work examines thresholds between body and mask, self and double, using texture, fleeting expression, and colour to reveal vulnerability, ambiguity, and intimate contradictions.
