"Evolution is survival. Everything shifted after Alchemy of Ashes. Since then, I've been moving relentlessly. Four shows, two major fashion capitals, pressure, refinement. When you move that fast, you either lose yourself or you distil yourself. I chose distillation. I chose refinement."
"London has been catalytic. It stripped me down. It forced me to confront my own skin, and to finally start inhabiting it. The result is a collection that feels markedly more precise: silhouettes pared back, statements sharpened. The editing process was ruthless."
"I cut two looks the night before the show. Without hesitation. Editing can be violent, but necessary violence. I'm less afraid now. And fearlessness sharpens the blade. I don't think in categories. I think in impact."
Peruvian designer Genaro Rivas unveiled A Glass to Break at London Fashion Week, a collection rooted in destructive beauty and regal wounds. Inspired by a photograph of bullet-marked glass in Berlin and shattered glass discovered during a walk, the collection comprises 26 predominantly womenswear looks with selected menswear silhouettes exploring rebuilding from destruction. Rivas describes the collection as marking decisive evolution following rapid shows across fashion capitals. Through ruthless editing and refinement, he pared back silhouettes and sharpened statements. Despite conceptual depth, the collection balances spectacle with precision, featuring sculptural pieces and striking red-carpet moments. Rivas emphasizes thinking in impact rather than categories, envisioning collections as soundscapes with tension, rupture, and silence.
