Five Fits With: Fashion Critic and Founder of StyleZeitgeist Eugene Rabkin
"It brings me great joy to feature one of fashion's funniest and most truthful critics in Eugene Rabkin, founder of the influential media platform, StyleZeitgeist. He's written for many of the most prestigious institutions out there. He's edited and contributed to several books, teaches criticism and fashion writing at the Parsons School of Design, and is the author of Torn: Fashion and Postmodernism, upcoming from Zer0 Books. He's also got a brilliant Substack and an Instagram in which he highlights things he loves."
"Born in the Soviet Union, Rabkin emigrated from his native Belarus at age 15 to Brooklyn, where he stayed for 32 years. Over some espresso, he tells me that after attending FDR High School in Brooklyn, he went to a pretty crappy college-based university, but I'm a New Yorker through and through. It's this combination of Soviet and Brooklynite that gives Eugene and his writing its sharp bite."
