The 2026 Met Gala will take place on May 4, 2026, supporting the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute as its annual fundraising event. The gala’s theme is Costume Art, tied to an exhibition curated by Andrew Bolton that emphasizes Western art from prehistory to the present and explores artistic representations of the dressed body by pairing fashions and artworks from the museum’s collection. The exhibition will open in the new nearly 12,000-square-foot Condé M. Nast Galleries. Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams will co-chair the gala alongside Anna Wintour. A dress code has not yet been announced.
