Behind the scenes of Conde Nast Traveller's latest fashion shoot in Morocco
"In December 2025, a Condé Nast Traveller team of six travelled from all over Europe to Morocco to shoot the Spring collections fashion story. The colourful country was an obvious choice. Once home to Yves Saint Laurent, it is ubiquitous for fashion inspiration, and the SS26 shows were no different. Models walked the runways in desert-inspired looks at Balmain, harem pants at Michael Kors and turbans at Louis Vuitton and Loro Piana."
"We stayed at the La Sultana in Marrakech, a hotel hidden within the old Imperial City Walls and nestled behind the 16th-century Saadian Tombs, some of the best-preserved monuments of Moorish architecture in North Africa. It is not just an oasis of calm, away from the bustling streets of merchants and tourists, but one of luxury and unparalleled service. All 28 rooms are squirrelled away in hidden chambers across five riads, each designed with a distinct and different Moroccan charm."
A Condé Nast Traveller team of six traveled from Europe to Morocco in December 2025 to photograph SS26 spring collections. Morocco’s fashion heritage, varied landscapes and year-round sunshine offered fitting inspiration for desert-inspired looks, harem pants and turbans seen at major houses such as Balmain, Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton and Loro Piana. The production used Marrakech and Oualidia as locations. Accommodation at La Sultana provided privacy, traditional riads, and restored Moorish architecture near the Saadian Tombs. The hotel’s discreet luxury, handcrafted details and local cuisine and cocktails contributed to a relaxed and visually rich shooting environment.
