"a much-needed injection of grand-scale glamour"
"I wanted to create something that feels at once intimate and mischievous,"
"A gilded world within Soho House that celebrates British making, artistry and a certain kind of elegant irreverence that runs through both my work and the house itself."
"simply means Gold for ornament and Mischief for fun - something which December needs both of"
Giles Deacon, known for decadent prints, dramatic proportions and irreverent British glamour, expands his practice into interiors with a festive takeover at Soho House’s 40 Greek Street. The Gilded Mischief converts the space into an immersive, 18th-century salon using sumptuous fabrics from the Aperigon collection with Sanderson, exuberant drapery, and framed fragments of watercolour paintings, pencil vignettes and ink drawings created over the last decade. Bespoke staff uniform and a menu curated with Soho House executive chef Nathanial Tofan accompany the installation. The project celebrates British making, craftsmanship and an elegant, mischievous sensibility across art, fashion and food.
