"FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi continues to take important steps in what is now the final phase of his recovery from injury. Back in September, the 21-year-old midfielder underwent an arthroscopic surgery aimed at resolving the injury he had suffered to the medial meniscus of his right knee. The estimated recovery period was set at between four and five months. Gavi himself has been providing updates on his condition through his social media channels."
"The next step, once positive sensations with the ball have been fully recovered, will be to begin training with the group. After that, he would receive medical clearance and be available to Hansi Flick. On 23 February, the five months initially set for his recovery will be completed, but neither the club nor the coaching staff are setting specific deadlines for his return to group training."
"In the video, he can be seen carrying out exercises with several balls, supported by a member of the coaching staff. "What a feeling to train with the ball after so much time," wrote the academy player. Prior to his injury, Gavi had made only two appearances this season, both of which came as substitutes, with the midfielder even managing to register a solitary assist."
Gavi underwent arthroscopic surgery in September to treat a medial meniscus injury in his right knee, with an estimated four-to-five month recovery. He has posted progress updates on social media and recently trained on the pitch alongside Pedri. He has now begun working with the ball, posting a clip of ball exercises supported by coaching staff and writing, "What a feeling to train with the ball after so much time." The next steps are to regain full positive sensations with the ball, join group training, obtain medical clearance and become available to Hansi Flick. No firm return date has been set.
