"Unrest? That's no longer my concern. It's a matter for the doctors," Karanka said as quoted by Mundo Deportivo."
"I have always said, even yesterday, that communication with all the clubs has been fantastic. I was in contact with Deco until this morning, when the decision was made. And it was done for the boy's benefit, so that he could recover as soon as possible. The better he is at his club, the better he will be in the national team."
"The coach was with him last night and this morning, before he was withdrawn," he explained."
Aitor Karanka stated that Lamine Yamal's withdrawal from Spain's upcoming World Cup qualifiers was taken on medical advice and with Barcelona's agreement. Karanka rejected claims of unrest and said the decision rested with the doctors. He stressed transparent communication with Barcelona sporting director Deco and confirmed contact continued until the morning the decision was made. Karanka explained the withdrawal aimed to help Yamal recover quickly so he can perform for both club and country. He noted that coach Luis de la Fuente spoke with Yamal before the withdrawal and praised Yamal's recent form, including a strong game against Bruges and a goal in Vigo despite minor niggles.
