Official: Barcelona midfielder out for two weeks with minor muscle injury | Barca Universal
"Just as it felt like the injury woes were easing up for FC Barcelona, they have been handed a fresh setback today. In an official statement, the Blaugrana have announced that in-form midfielder Fermin Lopez has suffered a minor injury to his calf muscle, which will rule him out of action for two weeks. "Fermin has a minor injury in the soleus of his right leg and the approximate recovery time will be two weeks," the statement from Barcelona read."
"This comes as a blow for Fermin and Barcelona, especially at a time when the midfield department is not firing on all cylinders. Fermin had firmly established himself as the preferred starter in the No. 10 role this term, ahead of Dani Olmo, who himself has struggled with fitness and consistency. With Pedri also being sidelined in recent weeks, Fermin's importance in the team had grown."
"Fermin's two-week absence means that he will now miss the matches against Alaves, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis, Eintracht Frankfurt, and possibly even Osasuna. There may be a slim chance that he returns for Barcelona's final game before the Christmas break against Villarreal. Fermin had already missed a few matches this season due to a groin injury. So far in 2025/26, he has made 13 appearances in all competitions, contributing seven goals and four assists."
Fermín López has sustained a minor soleus injury in his right calf and faces an estimated two-week recovery. The injury removes a preferred No.10 option from Barcelona’s midfield while Dani Olmo and Pedri have had fitness and consistency issues. López’s absence will likely rule him out of matches against Alaves, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis, Eintracht Frankfurt and possibly Osasuna, with a slim chance of return against Villarreal before the Christmas break. López previously missed games this season due to a groin problem and has recorded 13 appearances, seven goals and four assists in 2025/26.
