Ansu Fati’s long Barcelona association is close to ending with a permanent move to Monaco. After a loan spell in France last season, he returned in hopes of fitting into Hansi Flick’s plans. Negotiations involving Monaco and Jorge Mendes have advanced, and an agreement is believed to be near. Barcelona expects to receive around €11 million if the transfer is completed. Fati scored nine goals in 25 appearances for Monaco and helped secure European qualification. Anthony Gordon’s arrival has increased attacking competition, leading Fati to expect limited opportunities at Camp Nou.
