Inaki Pena speaks out after Real Madrid grab dramatic draw with Elche
"He shoots, tries to go for the rebound, but on the second play he doesn't let me participate because he knocks me out,"
"For me, it is a foul, but if the referee goes to VAR and says it's not a foul, there's nothing we can do."
"Vinicius doesn't touch the ball, it hits Iñaki Peña in the face . It's a clear foul. Iñaki Peña didn't see the play. Vinicius hits him in the face, that's why his face is like that. It's a clear foul,"
Iñaki Peña was left bloodied after a collision with Vinícius Jr during a rebound that led to Jude Bellingham's equaliser. Álvaro Rodríguez had put Elche ahead 2-1 on 84 minutes before Bellingham struck three minutes later. Peña says the contact prevented him from participating in the second play and regards the incident as a foul, but VAR allowed the goal to stand. Manager Eder Sarabia described the contact as a clear foul and asserted that Vinícius hit Peña in the face. The match finished 2-2, leaving Real Madrid one point above Barcelona atop La Liga.
