Barcelona sporting director Deco is reportedly traveling to London to hold talks with Joao Pedro’s agent. Barcelona has elevated Joao Pedro as a top summer transfer target after PSG entered the race for Julian Alvarez. Deco wants to meet the Brazilian’s entourage and may also watch Pedro during the FA Cup final between Chelsea and Manchester City. Pedro is viewed as a strong fit due to his technical ability, goal scoring, and potential at age 24. Barcelona sees him as a cheaper alternative to Alvarez, but the transfer fee could still be difficult. Barcelona also must satisfy the 1:1 rule, sell players, and free wage space before pursuing major signings.
