Bay FC acquires Argentina national team captain Aldana Cometti via international transfer
"She is a commanding defender who brings a wealth of experience on the world stage. Her presence, professionalism, and leadership make her another important addition to our squad, and we're excited to see the positive impact she'll have both on and off the pitch."
"Coming to Bay FC is a challenge that truly motivates me. The NWSL is one of the most competitive leagues in the world, and I want to test myself here while helping the team grow. I hope to bring leadership, organization and intensity to the back line."
"With over 100 caps, she is the all-time appearances leader for La Albiceleste, and her 12 goals in international competition rank fifth all-time and third among active players."
Bay FC signed center back Aldana Cometti from French club FC Fleury on a two-year deal through 2027 with a 2028 team option. The 30-year-old Argentina National Team captain brings over a decade of top-flight experience across Argentina, Colombia, Spain, and France. She won the 2018 Copa Libertadores with Atletico Huila and previously played alongside Bay FC forward Racheal Kundananji at Madrid CFF. Cometti holds Argentina's all-time appearances record with over 100 caps and ranks fifth all-time in international goals with 12. Coach Emma Coates praised her commanding defense, professionalism, and leadership qualities as important additions to the squad.
