Fermín López visited El Campillo during Barcelona's Christmas break, reconnecting with his hometown. He donated an FC Barcelona shirt that the city council described as a symbol bridging his achievements and his roots. The council praised his closeness and simplicity and said the town would hang the shirt with pride. More than 100 people attended the inauguration of the local supporters club, now named Peña Barcelonista Camp-Barça Fermín López Marín. The midfielder unveiled a commemorative plaque, signed the club's book of honor, greeted fans, signed autographs, and involved his family and local officials in the celebrations.
