"The day after my debut as a starter in LaLiga against Betis, Xavi congratulated me and wished me a happy birthday in front of everyone. Robert Lewandowski came up to me and said, 'Are you really 17?'. He couldn't believe his eyes. Maybe I still looked like a kid."
"At my parents' house, there are sheep, two dogs, chickens, ducks. The sheep graze on the lawn, and we eat the delicious fresh eggs laid by our chickens. When I go back, I completely disconnect."
Pau Cubarsi made his official Barcelona senior debut in January 2024, four days before his 17th birthday. He progressed through La Masia and rapidly established himself as a first-team regular, demonstrating maturity beyond his years. After his first LaLiga start against Betis, manager Xavi publicly congratulated him and Robert Lewandowski expressed disbelief at his age. Cubarsi remains connected to his rural upbringing, citing sheep, dogs, chickens and fresh eggs at his parents' house as ways to disconnect from football. Cubarsi also shares a long youth-team history and close bond with teammate Lamine Yamal.
