Barcelona not changing their plans with 19-year-old loanee despite recent surgery | Barca Universal
"Hector Fort left Barcelona in June on loan to Elche, hoping to further his development playing for a team that employs a largely similar style to his parent club. His start to life for Eder Sarabia's side, moreover, was stunning as he racked up two goals and as many assists for the club until the end of 2025, when he suffered a shoulder dislocation against Rayo Vallecano."
"As confirmed in a recent update by AS, Fort's relatively long-term injury has not changed Deco or Barcelona's plans regarding his future. The Catalans want to keenly monitor the 19-year-old's return from injury, fitness and how he finishes the campaign with Sarabia's side, and they continue to value his talent. He was pushed to leave the club to garner minutes under his belt and prove his worth to the management, and he is on a good track on that front as it stands."
Hector Fort moved on loan from Barcelona to Elche in June to gain minutes and develop within a similar playing style. He produced two goals and two assists before dislocating a shoulder against Rayo Vallecano at the end of 2025 and subsequently underwent surgery. Barcelona and Deco have not altered plans for his inclusion in the 2026-27 season and will closely monitor his recovery, fitness and end-of-season form with Elche. The club considers him capable of returning to compete with Jules Kounde at right-back. Fort has nine La Liga appearances, three Copa del Rey appearances, averages over four defensive actions and 1.6 ball recoveries per game.
