Barcelona linked with Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro again
"Barcelona are once again being linked with a move for Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro. A new report from Mundo Deportivo highlights how Remiro will only have a year left on his contract at the club in the summer and could be snapped up for just €10 million. Barcelona signed Joan Garcia last summer and he has gone on to become first choice at the club but that apparently won't stop the Catalans from potentially going for Remiro again."
"Barcelona do have plenty of thinking to do about back-up goalkeepers for next season. Marc-Andre ter Stegen is expected to depart shortly for Girona on loan but remains contracted to the club until 2028. Wojciech Szczęsny will continue as back-up this season but it remains to be seen if he will stay on. He did pen a two-year contract extension last summer but will turn 36 in April."
Alex Remiro will have one year remaining on his Real Sociedad contract in the summer and could be bought for around €10 million. Barcelona signed Joan Garcia last summer and Garcia has become the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, but Remiro is viewed by people close to him as a potential alternative. Barcelona must make decisions about back-up goalkeepers for next season given Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s expected loan move to Girona and Wojciech Szczęsny’s uncertain future despite a recent extension. Other options include Inaki Pena, currently on loan at Elche until 2029, and youngsters Diego Kochen and Aron Yaakobishvili.
