"As reported by SPORT, only a few weeks ago, everything pointed towards Onstein signing for AC Milan. The Italian giants had been tracking the youngster for a long time and were extremely confident of finalising the deal. At the same time, Bayern Munich were also applying strong pressure, keen to convince the player with their long-standing reputation for developing young talent."
"As it turns out, the entire landscape changed the moment Barcelona appeared. Once Barça made their interest clear, Onstein decided to put all other negotiations on hold. The player immediately prioritised a move to the Camp Nou project, a decision that has proven decisive in the final stages of the operation. His willingness to wait for Barcelona, despite advanced talks elsewhere, is seen internally as a major factor in bringing the deal close to completion."
Juwensley Onstein is very close to joining Barcelona after prioritising their offer and pausing other negotiations. AC Milan and Bayern Munich had been heavily involved, with Milan confident of finalising a deal and Bayern pressing with their youth-development reputation. Barcelona reached a verbal agreement with all parties and intend for Onstein to join and begin training as soon as the signing is completed and his internal presentation is done. The signing is intended partly to cover the gap likely to arise if Alvaro Cortes leaves on loan next summer. Onstein will initially join Barça Atlètic, where he will gain experience over the coming months.
