Barcelona are searching for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski and are keeping several forwards on their shortlist. Julian Alvarez, Joao Pedro, and Harry Kane are identified as top options. Barcelona director Deco has returned to London to try to facilitate a transfer for Chelsea’s Pedro. Barcelona believe Pedro could be available for around €70 million, and they think a deal might be completed for slightly more than that amount. Premier League sources say Pedro is not for sale, but Chelsea’s potential failure to qualify for European competition could affect their ability to keep him. Deco has previously visited London to assess Pedro, including meeting the player’s agent during the FA Cup final at Wembley on 16 May.
"Deco travelled to London alongside his assistant Bojan Krkic and the club's head of scouting, Joao Amaral, in order to advance discussions regarding Pedro. This is not the first occasion on which Deco has travelled to London to monitor the Chelsea forward. Due to Barcelona encountering difficulties in their pursuit of Alvarez, partly because of pressure from PSG, the club's director had already travelled to London previously to assess the Brazilian first-hand."
