Rayo Vallecano's sporting director, David Cobeno, firmly stated the club's intention not to negotiate Andrei Ratiu's summer sale amid growing interest from teams like Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona. The 26-year-old right-back has significantly contributed to the team's success this season, with Rayo targeting European competition qualification. Cobeno reiterated Ratiu's value and highlighted a release clause of around €25 million. Meanwhile, Ratiu expressed his commitment to the team and his discomfort with the media spotlight, focusing on his contribution to Rayo rather than transfer speculation.
Cobeno insisted they will not make life easy for any of Ratiu's suitors, instead pointing to the release clause in the right-back's contract which is believed to sit at around the 25m (21m) mark.
He is a very important player for us, who is living his first year in the elite playing continuously and our wish is that he can continue for many more years.
