"On May 7, SpaceX completed the first full-duration, full-thrust 33-engine static fire with the V3 Super Heavy, following two earlier attempts that ended early due to ground equipment issues. The Ship stage had already cleared its own static fire in April, making Flight 12 the first time both V3 vehicles have been cleared to fly together."
Starship V3 Flight 12 is scheduled for May 20 at 6:30 p.m. ET from Starbase in South Texas, debuting Starship V3 and marking the first launch from newly built Pad 2. Starship V3 increases capability by carrying more than 100 metric tons to orbit in reusable configuration, about three times the previous version. The design is lighter and simpler, reducing component failure risk and lowering flight costs. The new pad allows preparation of two rockets at the same time. NASA requires V3 reliability for Artemis human lunar landings, while SpaceX needs it for scaled crewed Mars transport. SpaceX completed a full-duration, full-thrust 33-engine static fire for the V3 Super Heavy on May 7, after earlier ground-equipment issues, and both V3 stages were cleared to fly together for the first time.
