Casablanca is evolving from a historical trading hub to a modern commercial center, exemplified by the Casablanca Finance City (CFC) district. Since its launch in 2010, CFC has attracted over 240 companies, creating more than 7,000 jobs despite setbacks during the Covid-19 pandemic. Increasing Moroccan investment in Africa is a trend facilitated by this hub. As a critical part of the African Continental Free Trade Area, CFC plays a vital role in promoting Africa’s industrialization and serves as a key entry point for businesses looking to access the African market.
The financial hub that the CFC represents, as well as the related tax advantages, are assets that can attract the relocation of production chains to Morocco and Africa.
We welcome companies from multiple sectors [and] we also support them in their development into the continent, said Lamia Merzouki, its chief operating officer.
