AMT Medical, a Netherlands-based medtech innovator, has raised €22M in Series B funding to enhance its Elana Heart Bypass technology, designed for safer, less invasive coronary artery bypass surgery. The funding round was led by Bender Analytical Holding, with significant contributions from Invest-NL, Oost NL, and other investors. The innovative technology allows heart bypasses without chest openings or heart stoppage, utilizing a patented clip and laser system to connect blood vessels. This procedure aims to decrease surgical risks and promote quicker patient recovery, expanding treatment options for those ineligible for traditional surgery. AMT collaborates with medical specialists to implement its procedures at various clinical sites.
Founded in 2015, AMT Medical is a medtech company developing a new approach to coronary artery bypass surgery. Their Elana Heart Bypass technology enables bypass procedures without opening the chest or stopping the heart.
Using a patented clip and laser system, it connects blood vessels without the need for stitches, making heart bypass surgery safer and more efficient.
This technology makes minimally invasive cardiac surgery more accessible, safer and scalable - exactly the kind of system innovation we believe in.
The technique was developed in partnership with UMC Utrecht and is currently being applied in clinical settings at Antonius Hospital Nieuwegein and the German Heart Centre in Berlin.
