In early 2025, Europe has significantly increased its military aid to Ukraine in response to the US halting new aid announcements under President Trump's administration. Countries like the UK, France, and the Nordics are leading this surge, resulting in Europe's monthly military and humanitarian aid averaging 2.4 billion euros more compared to earlier periods of the conflict. As of April 2025, total European aid has exceeded that from the US, addressing the growing concern of support for Ukraine amidst a stalled US contribution.
A major spike came in March and April, when the continent allocated a total of 10.4 billion euros in military aid and 9.8 billion euros in humanitarian and financial aid, per the German think-tank.
Europe has largely filled the gap for aid to Ukraine after the US stopped supplying new packages in January, according to a leading organization that tracks the donated assistance.
