Worst of Storm Dave weather has passed as thousands of homes without power; warning of potential flight disruption today

Dublin Airport faced significant flight disruptions on Saturday, with 17 cancellations and numerous diversions due to winds reaching 44 knots. Howth RNLI rescued a kite surfer who was blown offshore in challenging conditions. Met Éireann indicated that the worst of the winds had passed, with improved weather expected. However, around 4,500 homes remained without power due to Storm Dave, and crews were working to restore it. A yellow wind warning expired early Sunday, but some flight disruptions were still anticipated.
