"Storm Dave is currently near Norway but it will still be breezy or rather windy at times over the coming days and there'll be some rain or showers at times too but overall a good deal of dry weather."
"As of 8am on Sunday, approximately 4,500 homes, farms and businesses across the country remain without power as a result of Storm Dave."
"Conditions on scene were extremely challenging, with winds gusting to 40 knots and seas of up to four metres."
Dublin Airport faced significant flight disruptions on Saturday, with 17 cancellations and numerous diversions due to winds reaching 44 knots. Howth RNLI rescued a kite surfer who was blown offshore in challenging conditions. Met Éireann indicated that the worst of the winds had passed, with improved weather expected. However, around 4,500 homes remained without power due to Storm Dave, and crews were working to restore it. A yellow wind warning expired early Sunday, but some flight disruptions were still anticipated.
