Garden centres struggle to cope with demand as temperatures of up to 26C set to continue
Briefly

Uisce Éireann has called on the public to conserve water as twelve counties in Ireland face drought conditions. Current temperatures range from 17-26C but are coupled with a high fire-risk warning. Conservation measures, including orders in specific areas, have been in place since May 6. Margaret Attridge from Uisce Éireann noted that water source levels are below normal due to a prolonged dry period. Despite the drought, some businesses report increased activity due to favorable weather for gardening, though supply pressures are evident for garden centers.
Levels in many water sources are significantly lower than normal for this time of year following a dryer-than-average autumn, winter and spring.
Our business lives or dies by the weather, but thankfully we have been very busy. We can't keep up with the numbers of people looking for bedding plants.
