Weather: London to bask in week-long sunshine with no rain forecast
"Many of us will see the return of some late September sunshine through the course of today. There is going to be a little bit of rain in places though and that's more especially so across Eastern and southeastern parts of England this afternoon. That's courtesy of this band of cloud and patchy rain that's been pushing its way southeastwards through the course of this morning."
"But brighter skies are now following... and we'll continue to see those sunnier skies as they work their way further south and eastwards across the UK this afternoon. Any rain across the southeast tending to become very light and showery, most places turning dry and otherwise a mixture of cloud and fairly lengthy sunny periods, so a fine afternoon to come."
London will see a bright, mild week after a damp, grey start to autumn. Showers are expected Sunday evening with highs no higher than 16°C, then Monday will be sunnier with a peak of 19°C. The Met Office forecasts the pattern to last through the rest of the week, with temperatures rising to 20–21°C and no significant rainfall expected. Eastern and southeastern England may have light, patchy rain from a band of cloud moving southeastwards, but most places will turn dry. Southeast and East Anglia may feel slightly cooler under thicker cloud, while parts of England and Wales may feel a little warmer than Sunday.
