Responding officers eventually used a catchpole and a tarp to secure the bird and bring it to safety. The eagle, who didn't try to flee, was bleeding from its wing when it was rescued."
"Although it is currently unclear how it was injured, members of the Harbor Unit transported the eagle to a New Jersey animal sanctuary, officials said. According to All About Birds, it's not uncommon to see bald eagles in the area. "Bald eagles are most widespread during winter, where they can be found along coasts, rivers, lakes, and reservoirs in many states," the website said."
