An aggressive squirrel in Lucas Valley, San Rafael, has attacked several residents, sending at least two people to the emergency room. One woman reported the squirrel clamped onto her leg, clawing and biting, while another said the animal launched at her face and left her arm bloody. Flyers warn neighbors that more than five people have been attacked by a "very mean squirrel" that "comes out of nowhere." Marin Humane says no attacks have been reported since mid-September and will coordinate with the state to remove the animal if it reappears. The organization links the behavior to people feeding wildlife and notes squirrels are not rabies vectors.
