Update: Dense fog advisory in place for Delta until Friday midday  1/4 mile visibility
"Carquinez Strait and Delta, Central Sacramento Valley, Southern Sacramento Valley and Northern San Joaquin Valley are included in an updated dense fog advisory issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 4:25 p.m. The advisory is valid from 10 p.m. until Friday Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. The NWS Sacramento CA says to anticipate, Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous, the NWS said."
"These conditions can make driving challenging, so exercise extreme caution on the road, and if possible, consider delaying your trip. If you must drive in foggy conditions, keep the following safety tips in mind: Moderate your speed: Slow down and allocate extra time for your trip to reach your destination safely. Visibility priority: Ensure your vehicle is visible to others by using low-beam headlights, which also activate your taillights. If available, employ your fog lights."

Visibility is expected to drop to one quarter mile or less, producing hazardous driving conditions. Motorists should slow down, allow extra travel time, and keep a safe following distance. Use low-beam headlights and fog lights if available; avoid high beams. Stay centered in your lane using lane markings. In near-zero visibility, activate hazard lights and pull into a safe parking lot or, if none exists, off the roadway and stop with hazards on.
