Temperatures to dip below freezing as Arctic airmass moves across Ireland
"Unsettled weather conditions will continue to see cold and wet conditions as the week progresses. Rain and drizzle will continue to clear this morning with sunny spells and scattered showers following from the northwest. Some of the showers will be heavy, mainly further north, where there's a chance of hail. It is to be quite cold with highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees."

Some of the showers will turn wintry with hail and sleet, and possibly some snow too, especially about higher ground. Tomorrow and into midweek will remain cold with further wintry showers, isolated overnight, lowest temperatures down to -3 to +2 degrees and widespread frost developing.
