Vy Buss ordered 73 battery-electric buses from Volvo Buses to fully electrify city operations in Borås by April 2027. The fleet comprises 46 Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated units for high-capacity corridors, 14 Volvo 7900 Electric buses, and 13 Volvo 8900 Electric buses for regional routes. Chassis production will take place in Egypt with bodywork by Volvo's partner MCV at a newly inaugurated facility. Vehicles will serve city and interurban routes including Viared. Volvo Buses and local dealer Boråsbil will supply service contracts and depot solutions. Passenger upgrades include increased seating, improved accessibility, dual wheelchair areas on selected routes, and flexible interiors.
