Most of Ireland to enjoy sunshine this St Stephen's Day, but temperatures to drop below freezing tonight
"However, it will be cold today, with temperatures ranging between 4 and 8C, remaining the mildest near the east coast. Met Éireann meteorologist Rebecca Cantwell said: "With high pressure sticking around, there's plenty more dry, bright and cold weather on the way for the coming days as we go through the rest of 2025." "And so today, St Stephen's Day, will be dry and sunny in most areas, though it'll be cloudier near the south coast and at times near the east coast," she added."
"It will be dry, cold and clear tonight, with temperatures generally dropping to -1 to 4C, but feeling milder near the east coast. Tomorrow might continue dry, bringing a mix of clouds and spells of sunshine. The highest temperatures are likely to stay between 5 and 9C, with breezes turning fresh near eastern and southern coasts. Tomorrow night will see patches of drizzle possible towards the south coast, but it will stay dry otherwise."
Cold conditions will continue with daytime temperatures generally between 4 and 8C and mildest near the east coast. High pressure will maintain mostly dry, bright and cold weather through the coming days and into the rest of 2025. St Stephen's Day will be dry and sunny in most areas, though cloudier near southern and some eastern coastal parts. Nights will be cold and clear with lows around -1 to 4C, feeling milder near the east. Tomorrow and Sunday will be mostly dry with highs of 5 to 9C, but patches of drizzle may affect southern coasts and Sunday night could bring mist, fog or freezing fog and some frost. High pressure should keep New Year’s Eve settled, though weak fronts early next week may increase cloud and bring light drizzle.
