Jenny Gray will become chief executive officer of the Monterey Bay Aquarium in May. Gray is recognized for work in animal ethics, welfare and conservation and has led Zoos Victoria since 2007. Gray served as president of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums for two years. Gray holds master's degrees in ethics, engineering and business administration and a Ph.D. in ethics from the University of Melbourne. Julie Packard has served as executive director since the Aquarium opened in 1984, will step down, and will remain involved as a board member. The Aquarium has hosted over 752 million visitors, including over 2.7 million students admitted free.
