Jenny Gray will assume the role of chief executive officer of the Monterey Bay Aquarium in May. She is known within the zoo and aquarium industry for work in animal ethics, welfare and conservation. Gray has served as CEO of Zoos Victoria since 2007 and was president of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums for two years. She holds master's degrees in ethics, engineering and business administration and a Ph.D. in ethics from the University of Melbourne. Julie Packard served as the Aquarium's executive director since its 1984 opening and will remain involved on the board. The Monterey Bay Aquarium has attracted over 752 million visitors and admitted more than 2.7 million students free through class visits and educational programs.
